THAT’LL SHOW THEM

Isaiah 64:1-2 “1 Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Your presence- 2 As fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil- to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence!”

 FEARSOME

Have you ever just gotten tired of people bashing God?  I have. I have secretly wished these two verses. I wish God would just show up and prove once and for all that He is real and He is in control.  I wish He would show up and show off.

Guess what?  He already has!  He has done the most powerful work in our lives when He saved us.  Don’t you realize that?  And if we would just live like it, others would be in awe.  They don’t need to see the heavens rent or the mountains quake.  They would look at us and say, “Wow, God is incredible.  Look what He did and is doing in their life.”

TEACHING MOMENT

When your little Susie comes to Christ teach her to let Jesus shine through. Teach her to allow Him to control her tongue and actions.  Show her this verse and tell her that God can be just as powerful through her life if she will just yield to Him.

Tell your son that if he wants real power he must bow before the King of kings and do His bidding. Then others will be amazed at what God is doing in and through Him. Boys love to see things blown up or destroyed.  But God’s power is one that builds.  He wants to build them into men who love Him.

Are you in need of some power today? Do you want others to see God’s majesty in you?  Then humble yourself and allow Him to work.  Get out of the way.  Let Him overwhelm your family with His strength through your meekness.  They will be shocked.

Lord, today allow me to hide in You.  Let others only see me!  Let Your power and strength be exhibited in my weakness.
