Isaiah 42:6 “‘I am the Lord, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, and I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the nations,’”
WILL YOU ANSWER
Don’t you just love this verse? I mean, come on, look at it. God calls you. He holds your hand. He watches over you. He appoints you as a covenant to the people and sends you as a light to the nations. Wow!
But we have to respond to the call. We have to allow Him to take our hand. Our usefulness to God depends on our surrender to Him. Can you just imagine how God can use you if you will just let Him? It’s God Who is using you. It’s not just your boss or a friend. It’s the God of the universe.
TEACHING MOMENT
I bet you hold your child’s hand when you cross a street. I bet you watch over your child when they are at the park. And I bet you expect your child to answer you when you call his or her name. Am I right? Sure I am. The next time you do one of these things, reflect on this verse and share it with your child.
They, too, can be a light to the nations. But guess what? We have to be a part of lighting that flame. We have to expose them to the One who lights them. We have to be the one who takes their hand and leads them to Him. God will do the rest.
Are you answering God’s call? Are you taking His hand? Listen, my friends. God wants to use you in His master plan. But He won’t force you to be a part of it. Let Him use you today.
