YOU HAD BETTER RUN!

Psalms 68:1 “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered, And let those who hate Him flee before Him.”

PICKING YOU FIGHT

People are tough, until they face someone bigger and badder than them. When the outcome is surely a defeat, they retreat or turn and run for cover. I just love seeing that in movies. I love seeing the bad guys tuck tail and run. But I love even more seeing the good guys win, don’t you?

Today’s verse is a picture of the good guys winning. God stands and the enemies of the cross are scattered. The devil already knows he is whipped, but he keeps up the skirmishes. He keeps trying to bring down people to his level. But when God stands, he flees, along with all his minions.

TEACHING MOMENT

What side do you want your children on? That may sound like an obvious question. Surely, you want your children on the side of the righteous, on God’s side. Who wouldn’t, right? But are you preparing them to recognize their Lord?

You see, the devil is a schemer and loves to disguise himself as the “right” one. He loves to blur the lines just enough that even believers, who aren’t grounded in the Word, are confused. And before you know it they are fighting on the wrong side. Women’s rights becomes the right to choose. Civil rights slips into not obeying authorities. Slip, slide, fall!

If we are going to run, we need to run to Jesus. We need to run as fast as we can to His loving embrace. We need to run to the safety and security of our Defender. Only there are we truly safe. There is nothing wrong with running from the enemy if we are running to the place of purity and peace. But once there, stop running. He’s got this. He can defend you against ANYTHING OR ANYONE. Trust Him! His enemies will be scattered!
