REDEEMED, HOW I LOVE TO PROCLAIM IT

Job 19:25 “’As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.’”

REDEEMED THROUGH SUFFERING

Have you ever really suffered? I mean, really suffered. Perhaps you were extremely ill and saw no hope of recovery. Perhaps you had just suffered the third loss of a loved one within a short period of time. Perhaps you have gone through an extended period of joblessness. We can suffer in many ways.

How did you come out of that pit? Who lifted you? We can rely on friends and family for only so much. The only true and reliable source is God, our Redeemer. Job knew this. No matter how long God wanted Him to stay in this suffering, he knew that His Redeemer lives.

TEACHING MOMENT

How do we teach this concept to our children? How do we teach them that suffering will come and will last for a season? It could be a long season or it could be brief. But how do we teach them to trust through it? Simple! Easy Peasy! You have to model it.

That again! Come on Carl! Yep! There is no other way. When your children suffer you suffer, right? Use that opportunity to show them how you are trusting your Redeemer. Trust His perfect Will. Show your children that you are right there beside them suffering and trusting.

God may allow you to suffer in order to teach them to trust in a future suffering. What? Seriously? He will because He knows your affliction will be comforted by Him so you can use that same comfort to comfort others (2 Corinthians 1:3-5).

Stop complaining in the midst of your suffering. See it as a preparation period for your children or others. Learn and then teach!
