Acts 24:24-25 “24 But some days later Felix arrived with Drusilla, his wife who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus. 25 But as he was discussing righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and said, ‘Go away for the present, and when I find time I will summon you.’”
DID I OFFEND YOU?
Felix thought he knew what Paul was all about. He liked listening to him until… When Paul started discussing righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come he got scared. Was he convicted? Did the Word offend him? Did he think Paul was trying to convert him?
We need to be bold in our witness to others. There is no time to diddle daddle about the Gospel. People are dying and going to hell. That’s right. Right before our eyes a lost world is busting hell wide open. What can we do about?
TEACHING MOMENT
Teach your children to share the Good News by doing it yourselves. Look for every opportunity to witness. Witness at the ballpark. Witness in the line at the grocery store. Witness when you are behind the wheel of your car. Witness! Witness! Witness!
Equip your children, once they are saved, with the basic truths of the Gospel which they can share with their friends. Children love sharing good news. They love seeing their friends come to Christ. Why not help them prepare to share the best news ever?
If we will invest in the lives of our children by equipping them to be bold witnesses, they will be prepared to face the unknown. They will be prepared to take on the gates of hell with a water pistol if necessary. Encourage them to invite friends over to the house and make sure you plan some time to get to know them. Plant seeds in their friends’ lives.
Be like Paul was before Felix. He didn’t care whether he lived or died. He only cared about sharing the news Christ had given him.
